overview Serving as a faculty at Minority institute and as research mentor for several undergraduate research training programs, I have strong interest in conducting research studies that identify novel gene targets on tumor progression and metastasis in order to develop early diagnostic and targeted therapeutic strategies for cancer patients with metastasis, especially in the African American population. I have strong background and more than fifteen years extensive research experience in the field of molecular biology, oncology, and cell biology/biochemistry etc. I had been a key investigator in the studies of establishing models for anti-cancer drug screening, identification of gene or factors involved in cancer development or cancer metastasis. I also have trained numerous technicians and other laboratory personnel during my research career at NCI under multicultural environment. I have been trained through Health Disparities Research Training Program sponsored by U54 TU/UAB/MSM partnership and systemically explored cancer Health Disparities research in African American population.
